Restoration & Protective Glazing
Museum-quality restoration preserves the artistic and historical integrity of antique stained glass. Whether the piece is a Victorian home transom or a 19th-century sanctuary window, we document the existing condition, disassemble only what must be replaced, and re-lead with period-correct materials.
What we offer
- Documentation and condition assessment
- Selective re-leading and copper-foiling
- Broken glass replacement with period-matched stock
- Cementing and structural reinforcement
- Protective glazing installation
- Frame restoration and rehanging
How it's made
- 1
Assessment
Detailed condition report with photographs documents every break, failing solder joint, and missing piece.
- 2
Disassembly & cleaning
Where necessary, panels are disassembled, glass cleaned, and damaged lead replaced.
- 3
Reassembly & protection
Re-leaded panels are cemented, reinstalled, and can be paired with protective glazing that extends their working life by decades.
