Frequently asked
Straight answers to the questions we get most.
Do you ship stained glass nationwide?
Yes — we ship worldwide. Every piece is crated to museum standards for safe transit. For larger commissions we coordinate freight and consult with your installer on mounting specifications.
How long does a custom window typically take?
A typical residential panel takes 6–12 weeks from design approval to installation-ready. Ecclesiastical commissions and large architectural works may run 4–6 months depending on scale, complexity, and restoration needs. Rush projects are sometimes possible — ask.
Do you restore antique stained glass?
Yes. We perform museum-quality restoration on windows of any age, from Victorian home transoms to 19th-century church sanctuaries. Restoration can include selective re-leading, broken glass replacement with period-matched stock, frame restoration, and protective glazing.
What is protective glazing?
Protective glazing is an exterior clear glass or polycarbonate panel installed over antique or outdoor stained glass. It protects from weather, UV, impact, and vandalism without compromising the aesthetic. Properly vented, it can extend the life of a window by decades.
Can I commission a Tiffany-style lamp?
Absolutely. Our lamp collection includes faithful reproductions of classic Tiffany designs (dragonfly, peony, wisteria, poppy, daffodil) as well as original designs in the Tiffany tradition. Every lamp is copper-foiled and hand-soldered in the studio, and we can match to a bronze base or source a reproduction base for you.
What budgets should I plan for?
Small hanging panels start around $400. Residential entry sidelites and transoms typically range $2,000–$8,000. Larger stained glass windows start around $6,000 and scale with size and complexity. Ecclesiastical and architectural commissions are priced individually. Every quote is free and itemized.
Do you design the piece, or should I come with a design?
Either works. Many clients come with a vague idea — a style, a subject, a palette — and we develop the design together. Others bring specific drawings, photos of inspiration, or architectural plans. We also design from scratch for commissions where the client prefers to leave the creative direction to us.
Do you offer installation?
We install throughout Texas. For clients elsewhere in the country, we coordinate with your installer — providing mounting specifications, structural advice, and freight-safe crating.
How do I care for stained glass?
A dry microfiber cloth or soft brush is all most panels need. For deeper cleaning, warm water with a drop of mild dish soap on a soft cloth is safe — but avoid ammonia-based glass cleaners (they can attack the lead came and solder). We provide care instructions with every delivery.
Can you match a historic style for my home?
Yes — Victorian, Craftsman, Prairie, Art Nouveau, Art Deco, Mid-Century, and contemporary styles are all within our vocabulary. We study examples appropriate to your architecture and produce designs that feel authentic rather than pastiche.
Do you accept commissions for houses of worship?
A significant portion of our work is ecclesiastical — both new commissions and restoration of historic sanctuary windows. We work with congregation committees and church architects, and we understand the liturgical and iconographic considerations that distinguish ecclesiastical glass from residential work.
What happens if a piece is damaged in shipping?
We crate every piece to museum standards and insure shipments to full value. In the rare event of transit damage, we repair or replace at no cost to you. Insured freight is our responsibility until the piece is in your hands.
